BPD is a large park district website, complete with several "child" sites each with its own custom theme. These child themes where created using a combination of CSS variables and minor PHP customizations for each variation. I used this build as an opportunity to explore the speed improvements made possible by http2, as well as creating a truely app-like website, complete with restricted selection areas, slide out menu, and custom tap highlight colors.
The 786 Club is a civilian support crew for the US Navy's USS Illinois submarine. The split navigation system made it difficult to keep everything correctly centered, but with a bit of flexbox magic, everything lines up perfectly. This site uses WooCommerce with quite a bit of custom logic behind-the-scenes to calculate membership dues, expiration dates, and more. Be sure to check out the member's login screen to get a sense of what it might be like looking through a porthole aboard the USS Illinois.
